Marsha Shoemaker
Club Director/Club Owner /Head Coach 16-Black/ Tournament Director

I have been coaching volleyball for 20+ years now it started with a phone call from my old high school coach. I love coaching volleyball because it gives me a chance to TEACH the sport. That is a strange combination I know but think about it isn't coaching a lot like teaching we have a classroom filled with athlete's who want to learn how to perform on and off the court.

I started my career at Center Grove High school where I was a standout athlete in volleyball, basketball and track and after all these years volleyball is still my favorite sport. Continued my passion for volleyball through coaching at major university's such as Marian University (1999-2000) and University of Indianapolis (2000-2005)  and clubs such as Circle City (10 years) , Indy Jrs ( 3 years)  and IVA.(2 years). While some of these clubs do not exist anymore or are under different names it is my honor to start NUF Volleyball Club after learning from the best.  I have taken many teams down to Orlando for AAU Nationals and 3 times now we have come home as champions. This is a tournament that we will compete in as long as my club is running. It's a great way to end your season in the sunshine state playing volleyball.

If you don't make it fun for your participants they won't want to come back too learn. Make it interesting, always show them something new, demonstrate but yet let the athlete perform it that is the only way they will learn the sport. Hands on training is what I was always taught and still teach it to this day stay competitive yet make it fun.

Never underestimate fun - never; because after all laughter is the best medicine (NUF).
